Kingdom Hearts 3’s Opening Song Is a Skrillex/Utada Hikaru Collaboration

Square Enix has confirmed that the opening theme song to Kingdom Hearts III, titled “Face My Fears,” is a collaboration between longtime Kingdom Hearts theme musician Utada Hikaru and Grammy Award-winning artist Skrillex.

According to Square, Kingdom Hearts fan Skrillex previously intended to work with Hikaru to remix “Don’t Think Twice,” a previously revealed Kingdom Hearts III track. Their collaboration grew into the new track, which will be released on Jan. 18, 2019 alongside “Don’t Think Twice.”

Producer Poo Bear also collaborated on the track. A listing from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers days ago hinted at this possible collaboration, but Square has at last confirmed it’s a reality.
